EU funding for social activation

SLOVENIA, December 16 - The beneficiary of financial contribution for the project Include and activate is the Slovenian Book Agency. The project will address the needs of the most vulnerable target groups who are furthest from the labour market due to social exclusion, long-term unemployment or unfavourable circumstances.

As part of the project, innovative interdisciplinary social activation programmes integrating cultural content with targeted training will be developed and rolled out. Special emphasis will be on integrating the cultural component, particularly literature, creative writing, illustration, and digital literacy. This will ensure that the participants build their confidence and boost empowerment, strengthen their social and functional skills and improve employment prospects.

The project will be implemented in the framework of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, under priority Long-term care and health, and social inclusion. It will pursue specific objective Fostering active inclusion with a view to promoting equal opportunities, non-discrimination and active participation, and improving employability, in particular for disadvantaged groups.

The total amount of eligible costs for the implementation of the project amounts to €2 million. The two cohesion regions will receive €989,000 from the EU’s European Social Fund Plus.
