Over €25 million in EU funding for medical equipment in hospitals

SLOVENIA, August 28 - As part of the project, the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for the Monitoring, Quality and Investments in Healthcare will equip with new medical equipment all public health institutions in cohesion region Vzhodna Slovenija that were founded by the Republic of Slovenia. The existing outdated medical equipment will be replaced with advanced, cutting-edge medical equipment that will be used for effective treatment, diagnoses, life support, prevention of diseases, and general care of patients. The project will improve access to diagnostic and therapeutic services, provide efficiency in healthcare and ensure high quality services. The project continues the country’s efforts to ensure an accessible, reliable and modern healthcare system.

The project Medical equipment for hospitals will be implemented under priority Long-term care and health, and social inclusion of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. It will pursue specific objective Ensuring equal access to healthcare and fostering resilience of health systems, including primary care, and promoting the transition from institutional to family-and-community-based care.  

The €33,748,823.73 project will receive over €25 million, more specifically €25,486,000.50, from the European Regional Development Fund.
